Description
Before the Germanic peoples converted to Christianity, pagans celebrated several cyclical festivals occurring at various times of the year. Some of these may be preserved in the native Germanic names for the months of the year which were used before, and continue to be used alongside the more commonly used Latin-derived months of the year we all know.
