Hello, Cookies 😃☀️!
The office hippies 🧝🏾♀️. That is how I sometimes jokingly refer to us, even though it could not be further from what we do. I say it because that is what people think sustainability strategists do. This is an office job with all the Excel sheets, presentations, meetings and challenges that come with dealing with multiple stakeholders and huge amounts of information.
When I started my degree, it was still called Sustainability Specialist. It has been changed to Strategist, no idea why 🤷🏾♀️.
If you're considering a career change, do keep in mind that this job, especially if you're working in the healthcare sector, requires a lot of human interactions. I am an introvert who is comfortable talking to a lot of different people. Had I still been my old shy self, it would have crushed me.
A huge part of why it is so enjoyable is my colleagues. I am working with supportive, professional and reliable people who help me get better every day and who appreciate my efforts.
