Description
Wednesday around 2:00 p.m. on July 29th 2026, Jasper passed away 😢
I was holding Jasper loving him looking into his eyes kissing him all the way until he was gone.
It turns out he had an irreversible case of sepsis and nothing could be done.
The sepsis occurred from some dog bites I think that might have happened between him and the alpha, bigger dog there Rocky, but I did not witness that so I can't be 100% but it seems that's the likely scenario.
Rocky is 70lbs. Jasper is 21lbs so whatever happened was not a fair fight.
The real tricky part is I'm Hands-On with these dogs and I'm always out of my backyard so I'd hear fighting or yelling or barking or anything like that not to mention I give them dog washes cold showers put ice in their water dishes and on and on and on and I'm very keen on noticing anything out of the ordinary and so I'm very surprised The Jasper could have had these bites and me not notice because many times they're in the last week I picked Jasper up gave him some hugs and pet him which confounds me because I would have seen in the bright sunlight any sores or anything that looked like an infection...but, I didn't.
In fact I just watched four dogs that I have at the house and I left out the shampoo and a big tub a portable tub so that I could bring Jasper and his brothers and sisters over and give them a good bath this weekend.
So yes I keep kicking myself how could I have not seen this and definitely how could I have not felt any kind of sores or abrasions. I still don't understand that one.
I want to thank all of you for your kindness your well wishes your prayers your interactions with my various posts about Jasper and your help in generosity. Two ladies in particular deserve special attention and gratitude because both were willing to pay Jasper's entire medical bill. The way it worked out Cottonwood Creek Veterinary Clinic in Woodway would not allow the bill to be split so Marzena Szostak gets a special shout out for contributing $300 towards Jasper's medical bills yesterday and also to Joe'l Oldag for calling into the clinic and being willing to also pay the entire bill. However the clinic wouldn't let her pay the balance so I ended up having to use my mom's credit card which is a little bit embarrassing because my mom's in her mid 80s and on a fixed income.
I go into more detail in the 10 minute video but I understand if you're not able to watch the video
At the least, you can get an idea of what went on with me, Jasper and my attempt to rescue him and get him back to health.
I will not give up on helping out animals in need but for a few days I'm going to take a break and I have to do some work and keep my business going which is floundering right now because I'm not giving it enough attention and this has been very detrimental to my financial situation.
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers and while you're at it please say a nice sweet prayer for this sweet boy, Jasper, he's such a good boy. 🙂
