Construction crews working in the commercial district east of the Jackson Street and U.S. 65 intersection hit and broke a water line, city officials said.
It was a normal Friday in Ozark, Missouri. Construction crews were busy working near the busy intersection of Jackson Street and Highway 65.Suddenly, a loud crunch echoed through the air.
A construction machine accidentally struck a major water line. Deep underground, the pipe cracked open. Water began pouring out into the dirt. Right away, nearby businesses noticed the change.
Faucets sputtered, and the water pressure dropped to a tiny trickle. In some buildings, the water stopped completely.
But help was already on the way. City of Ozark repair crews rushed to the scene. They put on their high-visibility vests, grabbed their tools, and started digging.
The crews are still working hard right now to fix the broken pipe and turn the water back on for everyone.
