Hey all! I'm back with some more Your Lie in April!

Embarrassingly enough, Watashi no Uso was shelved for nearly a year (along with some other arrangements.... Shhhhhhh..). I've tried time and time again to arrange it, but it never really clicked with me-- until recently.

I knew that I needed a tuning that allowed me to play with my entire fretboard and provide a wide range of dynamics. This much was necessary as the original composition was played on the piano, allowing for bass notes to be played two or three octaves lower than the melody. So, after an entire year of struggling to arrange this song in standard and dropped D, I concluded that I needed to find an alternate to my home tuning, CGDGBe. The altered form that I use in this arrangement is CGDGCe, where B is increased half a step to C. This led me to discover two more arrangements that worked really well in the new tuning: Koe no Katachi's main theme and Steins;Gate 0's ending theme... But that's neither here nor there. (just be on the look-out for them in the near future! ;) )

Despite its shortcomings, Your Lie in April holds a special place in my heart. After all, its musical theme was what inspired my high school self to launch a YouTube channel-- a platform served to reach as many people as I could with my music. And so, after I was able to find the tuning to Watashi no Uso, I decided not to get too technical and recorded my rendition once I was able to provide a few textures to choose from for each section. Arranging took around a week, and because of that, it shaped an improvised recording that I put my heart and soul into. I hope you guys enjoy it.
