Violin Timelapse: Age 4 to 22

I made this video for fun and have disabled comments because a lot of people don't understand playing violin for fun and not being perfect. :)

for FAQ:
- I majored in violin because I could get a violin scholarship + they wouldn't let me register for the classes I need to double major in creative writing
- experienced a lot of pain from playing violin
- minored in women's, gender, and sexuality studies - kind of picked at random and ended up being really into it. started looking into grad programs but decided to do music grad school first
- went to grad school for violin pedagogy in WI with the idea that I didn't want to ever teach violin unless I knew how to start out a kid to minimize pain when playing. really enjoyed this graduate program + met my best friend there
- this video's ad revenue paid for my rent for a handful of months at the peak of its popularity!! so between that + tuition waiver + stipend, I didn't end up with very many student loans
- also wanted to get graduate degrees in gender studies and law. studied for the LSAT while I was in violin grad school
- found out I have chronic pain because of an actual condition and not just playing violin wrong 😂 (hypermobility spectrum disorder)
- pandemic started right after I graduated so I ended up not teaching
- got my WGSS master's and law degree (full scholarships, no loans)
- passed the UBE bar exam and immediately decided to move to WI (where that bar exam doesn't count) to live near my best friend
- very happy & very busy doing research and writing for a law firm
- studying to take the WI bar exam lmao
- currently on hiatus from violin because my jaw keeps partially dislocating due to hypermobility! plus my shoulders, wrists, and back hurt a lot when playing. I'm going to see a physical therapist for my jaw and hopefully play my instruments again once that's under control.
