This lyrical monologue captures the celestial apsara Urvashi as she redefines her origin - not as a daughter of the heavens or oceans, but as a radiant embodiment of human longing, desires, imagination, and consciousness. The passage is drawn from the third scene of the 'geetikavya', where Urvashi reveals her true essence to her mortal lover, Pururava.
This song appears to be part of an unreleased album or film project that, for unknown reasons, never saw the light of day. Luckily, the song survived.
The voice of S. Janaki brings soul to the poetic vision, doing full justice to this evocative work. And finally, Vyjayanthimala's visuals capture the very essence of such portrayals in Hindi cinema.
