A bolo, or bolas, is best defined as three weights joined in a wishbone configuration by cordage that when spun and slung, will splay in flight and tangle or incapacitate prey. As far as artifacts go, we have very few examples of bolas because the natural material would not survive the passing of time. However, the technology of the design has survived and likely has been around since the original human expansion across the world.
