Description
In a new research facility at Mechanical Engineering, underwater technologies are tested in a controlled environment before going out to sea.
One example: a robot that listens to anchor chains from the inside.
Cracks, rust and wear all have their own sound, making it possible to detect damage long before you can see it.
From lab to offshore conditions, this research is shaping smarter and safer monitoring at sea.
