Description
At the Researchlab Autonomous Shipping, scientists test how vessels can operate without direct human control. Using a fleet of sensor equipped model ships, they experiment with navigation, obstacle avoidance and interaction among multiple vessels.
The lab combines indoor facilities such as towing and flume tanks with outdoor test locations, creating a unique environment where new technologies can be developed and validated in increasingly complex conditions.
This research helps bridge the gap between simulations and real world applications, accelerating the development of autonomous shipping and more efficient use of waterways.
