Since our foundations, UCL and the Royal Society have been deeply intertwined, defined by a mutual commitment to scientific excellence, public understanding of science, and the advancement of knowledge for societal benefit.  

Many of UCL’s most distinguished academics have been elected Fellows of the Royal Society, one of the highest honours in UK science, and delivered prestigious lectures or received medals awarded by the Society. 

For 200 years, UCL and the Royal Society have collectively championed open inquiry, interdisciplinary collaboration and the role of science in addressing the world’s most urgent challenges.
