Description

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed 12-year-old British autistic campaigner Joshua Harris in Istanbul on Wednesday. Harris launched the “Cake Not Hate” campaign after a far-right attack on a mosque in Peterborough, England, baking and handing out homemade cakes to worshippers as a gesture of solidarity against Islamophobia.

Despite receiving threats, Joshua and his father, Dan Harris, expanded the initiative, visiting more than 100 mosques across the UK. During their 10-day visit to Istanbul, they are continuing the campaign by distributing homemade cakes at mosques, beginning at the historic Suleymaniye Mosque, to promote friendship, solidarity and stand against anti-Muslim hatred.
