I worked search and rescue as a park ranger deep in the woods.
Most abandoned cabins are empty.
This one wasn’t.
I was sent to investigate a remote cabin hidden far from any marked trail.
At first, everything looked normal.
Until I found what was hidden beneath it.
A forgotten basement.
A strange shrine.
And signs that someone had been there recently.
The deeper I went underground…
the less the place felt abandoned.
The tunnels went farther than they should have.
The things I found inside made no sense.
And when I realized I wasn’t alone…
it was already too late.
Some places in the forest are abandoned for a reason.
And some secrets are buried because they were never meant to be found.
