We once asked a wise old man, where the rivers flow.
We once asked a calm old lady, what she has to show.
The wise old man he told us gently, rivers flow in waters plenty.
The calm old lady showed us warmly, she has a kitten, named her Laurie.
Look she is now sleeping softly,
Cooing, prrring in her dreams,
The dreams of yarn and string for Laurie
