In May 2026, social media influencer Gabriela "Gabbie" Gonzalez, her father Francisco Gonzalez, and her former boyfriend Kai Cordrey were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and solicitation of murder. Prosecutors allege the trio plotted to kill Jack Avery, a former member of the boy band Why Don't We, with whom Gabbie shares a seven-year-old daughter named Lavender.
