I got to speak for a moment on the ISC West show floor with Kevin Gramer of ThruVision, a company leveraging high-sensitivity infrared sensors to give users the ability to have something like an x-ray scanner image of people standing or walking in order to help determine if they may be concealing an object beneath their clothes or in their pockets.
Kevin explained that the unit can typically sense items that are more than a few degrees different in temperature from the body itself. I wish that I could pick one of these up to experiment with it! But that price tag makes it clearly a government product, heh.
