In this video, we explore the beauty of saxophonist Steven Banks's musicianship by going deep into one of his many compositions, the Salleras Variation. Originally titled "Moon Dreams," this piece was inspired by Spanish saxophonist/composer David Salleras's Caprice No. 3 in D minor. Professor Zach Shemon from the UMKC performed this at last year's KCSW summer camp, and I was blown away by his performance. Thank you for your instruction Professor Shemon - I am sure this will be a helpful resource to all who will come to study this piece! I ought to take a swing at it myself...
