After the Master Chief pursued the Prophet through the Ark portal, mankind's defenses fell into disarray. The Priory of Fidelity, a sect of Sangheili loyalists, have tracked the UNSC Valhalla to Earth in order to learn the location of the Covenant Separatists that have disgraced their race. Captain Redmond, a veteran field officer, is called in to reunite his team of special forces troopers for one last do-or-die mission to defend the information from falling into enemy hands, while also grappling with the responsibilities that come with being not just a soldier, but a leader.
