Description
Another wheel size debate is brewing, whether we like it or not, and this time it's super-sized. 32in wheels have been seen on concept bikes and prototypes from mainstream brands like Canyon and Scott, and even raced in elite-level XC. Not only that, Neko Mullaly won the Sea Otter Classic Downhill (if you can call it that) on a Frameworks with a modified Fox Podium fork and 32in front wheel.

Next season will see most big name XC teams wheel out production race bikes, but what about trail riders? Are there any benefits for us, or does the extra weight and difficulty of packaging these monster wheels make them a non-starter?
We are certainly curious, so when the opportunity arose to try a modified Canyon Strive:ON e-bike with a 32in front wheel, we jumped at the chance. Better still, the Frankenbike in question belongs to Bill Mullholland, who has developed a site that will compare your runs on the same track and show you where you're faster. Camillo.ai is free to use, so if you're a keen racer, or just want to get better on your home trails, it's well worth a look.
You'll have to watch the video to find out whether the 32in wheel went faster than the 29er, and if it was actually fun to ride.
And when you've done that, let us know in the comments how you feel about yet another wheel size being rolled out into the market.
