In today's video, we discuss the various real world religions that have helped influence Mortal Kombat! Some characters like Raiden (Raijin) and Fujin come from Shinto, dragons, yin yangs, and Buddha statues can be traced back to Daoism and Buddhism, and there's a a surprising amount of stuff from Greek mythology -- from centaurs to Geras and Kronika! In this video, I explain it all -- or at least, as many as I can think -- using Microsoft Encarta '99 to do it!
