Ron reveals how he became the first Black detective in the Colorado Springs Police Department, how a newspaper advert led him into an undercover KKK investigation, and how he managed to fool members of the Ku Klux Klan by posing as a white supremacist over the phone.
He also shares what it was like speaking directly to KKK leader David Duke, receiving an official Klan membership card, protecting Duke as a police officer, and why the investigation was eventually shut down.
Ron reflects on the legacy of BlacKkKlansman, working with Spike Lee, and why conversations about racism, white supremacy and Black history remain so important today.
