In this YouTube Short, filmed at the Battleship Memorial in Portland, Oregon, I call on every American who still believes in democracy to stand up on October 18 and join the nationwide “No Kings” rallies taking place across the country.
The Trump Administration and House Republicans have tried to smear these rallies as “Hate America” events–because the idea of “No Kings” terrifies them. But this movement isn’t about hate; it’s about defending freedom from a president who sees himself above the law. Trump’s rhetoric about “sending troops into Democratic cities” and his obsession with unquestioned power are the exact things our Founders warned us about.
Portland isn’t burning. America isn’t your enemy. The danger isn’t coming from protesters–it’s coming from the man who wants to crown himself king.
On October 18, be seen. Be loud. Be unafraid.Join the No Kings rallies. Stand for democracy. Stand against authoritarianism.
