I wanted to honor Miura-san, so I did it in the only way I know how - I wrote a song for him. I like to think he would've enjoyed hearing it.
Kentaro Miura was one of my favorite writers and artists, and Berserk is one of the greatest pieces of fiction of modern media. Its influence can be seen and felt in every corner of this world. It shaped the visual language of modern fantasy in more ways than you could imagine.
Despite its violence and grimdark imagery, Berserk isn't without heart - in fact, it is one of the most human and emotionally resonant stories I've ever read. It's a story of love and forgiveness. It's about overcoming grief and living with trauma. It's about learning to trust and depend on people. It's about the rejection of nihilism in the face of utter despair.
It is a story of hope told through the eyes of a broken man who forsook his humanity after losing everything he held dear, only to have it restored through the compassion and support of others.
Berserk is truly a masterpiece, and we are all so lucky to have read it.
