1. Apple releases the first iOS 27 Public Beta
Apple has officially opened the iOS 27 Public Beta to everyone enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program.
The release includes the new Siri AI experience, Apple Intelligence improvements, UI refinements and the latest Liquid Glass design changes.
Apple is recommending users back up their devices before installing, as beta software can still contain bugs and affect battery life or app compatibility.
If you've already been running Developer Beta 3, you may not see a new update because the builds are effectively the same on iPhone.

2. Apple quietly reissues iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 Beta 3
Alongside the public beta launch, Apple has released revised builds of Developer Beta 3 for iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 Golden Gate.
The updated build numbers suggest Apple fixed issues discovered after the original Beta 3 release.
Apple hasn't published release notes explaining what changed.
If you're testing on iPad or Mac, it's worth checking for another update even if you already installed Beta 3.

3. Apple continues work on iOS 26.6
Apple has also released Beta 5 of iOS 26.6.
Rather than adding new features, the update is focused on bug fixes, stability and security improvements.
This is likely to be one of the final beta releases before iOS 26.6 is made available to all supported devices.
Users staying on iOS 26 instead of jumping to iOS 27 should still expect ongoing maintenance updates.

4. Apple issues AI-related security warning
Apple recently released iOS 26.5.2 as an unexpected security update.
The update patches vulnerabilities that could potentially be exploited through AI-generated or maliciously crafted content.
Forbes recommends installing the update as soon as possible, particularly for users delaying the move to iOS 27.
It's another reminder that security updates often contain important protections even when they don't introduce new features.
