We bought a farmstead in the Swedish countryside of Småland last fall! Following the excitement that we had about moving into our gorgeous little farmstead was a huge wake-up call: we moved into a 300-year-old house at the beginning of winter and had no idea what we were doing. Our house didn't have radiators, we couldn't get the fireplaces to work properly, and we were miserable in the cold. This is the story of that first weekend and how we got through it.
