What do you need to become a leader in God’s Church?
Maybe the first things that come to mind are determination or charisma or training, but according to Paul, the very first requirement is really “desire.”
A leader without desire has nothing to drive him to achieve, grow, and persevere when resistance arises. Because he is “desire-less,” he is likely to stagnate or give up instead of being a leader who nourishes and advances the goals he and those under him have set out to do.
What a powerful force this desire is — an essential requirement for God’s leaders.
