I was sent a working model of a 'flame-eater' engine, also known as an atmosphere engine, or a spirit pipe, vacuum engine, or flame-dancer. I gave it a fairly thorough testing, and here I compare it with steam engines, and discuss its mechanism and its various pros and cons.
