In the quiet outskirts of Portland, Oregon, The Cosmic Tones Research Trio was born. Their music occasionally echoes the energy of pioneers like Sun Ra, Alice Coltrane, and Pharoah Sanders—yet they bring a fresh, contemporary, and adventurous spirit to it.
The music unfolds like meditation, like an inner journey rather than fleeting entertainment. As a listener, you can do nothing but surrender to this ritualistic, trance-like experience.
It’s no surprise that the members of this trio share a deep interest in “acoustic ecology,” as well as meditation and yoga.
In short: music as a healing, unifying medium.
