The Congo Square Preservation Society honors Luther Gray & Jamilah Muhammad at the Ashe Cultural Arts Center for their work in New Orleans.
They are responsible for Congo Square, in New Orleans Armstrong Park for being name a National Historic Landmark. Congo Square is a place where the slaves and free people of color were allowed to gather and celebrate their musical and dancing heritage.
