The Nizari Ismailis — known to history as the Assassins — were far more than a medieval death cult; they were the custodians of a radical Gnostic theology rooted in ancient Iranian spiritual traditions. From their mountain fortress of Alamut, they developed a hierarchical doctrine of esoteric initiation that culminated in the declaration of the Qiyâmat: the abolition of religious law and the dawn of pure spiritual reality. Their clandestine relationship with the Knights Templar forged a hidden current of Baphometic wisdom that would flow through the veins of Western esotericism for centuries. This presentation draws on the work of Jason Reza Jorjani and Tracy Twyman to illuminate the theological, philosophical, and political legacy of this extraordinary order.
