Campaign/Backstory Lore for video context lol:
Ori is an Aasimar cleric with a mask that was given to her by her diety, it was originally used to keep wild magic suppressed, but later we found out the real reason behind her having this mask. Apparently in the history of the campaign, there were a lot of "accidents" in the world, created as a result of the weave, these people created from residium and having strong unstoppable wild magic caused a whole bunch of problems, and at some point, the gods had to come up with some way for these people to stop being created. 2 deities of light and dark made a deal to give these residuim-esk individuals suppressor masks that would allow them to live, but also give them the chance to become stronger by defeating each other in duels, with the goal to destroy other masks/other masked individuals, and absorb their magic cause woohoo, duels gotta end in d e a t h. Each deity in the whole pantheon of the campaign was given one of these masks to be passed on from one fighter to another till the mask is destroyed in a duel (I mention the duels again cause masks can only “die” in duels, if the person dies outside of that the mask just gets passed onto another person), hence why Ori was given one originally, but she was a literal child when she got it for some reasoN.
Ori was attacked by 2 masked people before finding this information out (and she felt REALLY GUILTY for them having their “consciousnesses erased” in a dream sequence she saw post duel)
and the masked cloaked individual in this animatic was known for sneaking into her conscious from time to time, and after finding out some info this past session, we now know that He's one of the 2 OG deities that made the masked duel deal in the first place.
SO! Ori is processing how she is literally an accident in the universe and is going to be forced to fight until she passes on (or murks a whole lot of people so OOF), but at least now she can talk about what the hell she found out with, her God, aka that different masked guy at the end (previously all of that mentioned above was an info-hazard that could have just taken him out of existence if he told Ori without her finding out on her own) oh yea he's also sort of like her adopted dad oop--
I've seen this audio be used for some cool projects and while I have some time, thought I'd make a video featuring Ori cause OH BOY things went down the past couple sessions 👀
