🌿 Siem Reap, Cambodia | Solo Backpacking Diaries
Crossing the border from Laos into Cambodia and heading straight to Siem Reap to explore some of the country's most iconic sights.
In this vlog, I spend the day temple hopping around the Ankor Archaeological Park by tuk-tuk, visiting the incredible ancient temples that make this area one of Southeast Asia's most famous destinations.
I also visit the APOPO Hero Rats Visitor Centre, where I learned about the remarkable work being done to clear landmines and unexploded bombs from Cambodia. Decades of conflict left millions of landmines and unexploded munitions scattered across the country, many of which still pose a danger today. Using their incredible sense of smell, specially trained Hero Rats are able to safely detect explosives, helping clear land for local communities and saving lives.

✈️ Last year I booked a one-way ticket to Asia, and spent six months travelling solo through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam
🌿 After years of study, structure, pressure, and routine, I knew I needed to step away - to quiet the noise of everyday life, reconnect with myself, and rediscover a sense of freedom, curiosity, and adventure.
🌍 I embraced everything that comes with solo backpacking… authentic homestays, questionable night buses, sunrise viewpoints, incredible street food, new friendships, jungle treks, long conversations with strangers, and all the unforgettable moments in between.
