In this video I help a friend modify a FRSky Taranis X9D by replacing the stock antenna and soldering in a new coax cable with a SMA connector to thread on a bigger 5dBi antenna. If you are curious about how to do this upgrade or have thought this mod was too much to handle I hope watching this video will convince you otherwise. It is a pretty straightforward DIY project. If you take your time you can safely get it working in under an hour. The biggest struggle was getting the 3D printed piece glued into the case. Once we did that everything worked perfectly. Once we decided to superglue the 3D printed collar into the Taranis everything just bolted into place.
