Tales of Symphonia | Lloyd Solo No Damage

KRATOZNIZMO Guide 1 months ago

Description

The entire written guide for the run is below in the pinned comments, you can use it to help you with doing this run yourself or just following along with what I did in the video!

This run is assuming you're using a new game+ save. For this run you will need:

-Lloyd Berserker Title
-Lloyd Combo Master Title
-At least 1 Million Gald
-1000 Grade or more (You should have this from new game+)
-x1 Ex Gem LvMax
-x1 Ex Gem Lv4
-x1 Ex Gem Lv2
-x1 Ex Gem Lv1
-Compound Ex Skill: Quick Turn (Dash+Tough)
-Compound Ex Skill: Sky Cancel (Sky Combo+Ability Plus)
-ALL Techs unlocked (Lloyd)
-Meat Stew Cooking
-Tenderloin Cooking

Optional:

-L. Unison Ex Compound skill on every party member, except Lloyd.

Important notes:

in order to make Lloyd's solo no damage run possible and to eliminate as much RNG as we can, you will need to use the menu overglow glitch to access Falcon Crest.

You will notice that my Lloyd has every Tech unlocked, this is due to using a save editor, it was also to ensure I had enough Grade/Gald for the run as well as using menu overflow when accessing Falcon Crest, therefore not simply selecting it because I have it unlocked. You might have to improvise a tiny bit at times if you don't have ALL techs, but all strats listed below will help you. (in future I may look into different strats that don't require ALL techs, for now this is what makes the Lloyd Solo No Damage run possible)

This isn't a general walkthrough, this is a Lloyd Solo No Damage run. I've added information to help as a guide in regards to doing that, so I assume you've at least played through Tales of Symphonia before and have knowledge on the dungeons and the puzzles, if not... YOU'RE OUT OF YOUR MIND!

I will only cover all the mandatory battles you will take as Lloyd, not random encounters so Holy Bottles will be your best friend in this challenge run. (There may be times where you need to build your unison bar up before some mandatory battles)

in some battles the enemies will attack your party members which are going to be set to "Hold Position" for the entirety of the game, we have no control over that so as long as it isn't actually Lloyd getting hit you're fine.

if you take damage early game between battles 1-15 it might be best to just reset entirely, taking damage any later then just try to PB, I have invested 4 years on and off working on this run, you aren't going to get a 0 hit run first try, trust me.

Normal Difficulty.

RULES:

If you get hit the run is over, you must start from the BEGINNING of the game, unless you're going for a PB then feel free to continue to the end counting all the hits you've taken. (Some attacks from enemies do more than 1 hit, for example if you get hit by Photon, it counts as 2 hits)

Set everyone besides Lloyd to "Hold Position" in the strat menu, they're not allowed to attack.

As party members will be Idle for the entirety of the game, you have no control over the AI choosing to target them, they will 100% take damage in this run, it don't count as long as Lloyd isn't the one getting hit.

Taking damage from traps around dungeons is fine, this will affect your overall HP and in some cases introduce status effects, but as this run is already so difficult I decided not to count damage from traps, it's only damage taken in battle that counts.

Unisons are allowed as long as you only attack with Lloyd, in fact we will use this in some later battles.

As you're only playing as Lloyd, don't use your party members to use Gels/inventory items, you must do everything as Lloyd only.

Glitches to skip sections of the game like Ymir Forest are fine, as long as you're not skipping mandatory battles.

Extra notes:

As you don't see every tiny detail and change in the run, I will mark important actions/changes you need to do before battles and between dungeons with bold writing. (Guide in the pinned comments below)
example -
*Set Demon Fang*
*Go to X/Y*
*Buy item*

The video and guide covers every single fight that is mandatory to do in the game, so they're unavoidable, there is one fight that we do that can be avoided but we do it in order to get an item we want from Sword Dancer 1.
