Hazrat Sulaiman ibn Dawood was a malik (king) and Nabi (prophet) of the. He was the third king of the Jewish people and a wise ruler of Israel and major parts of world. HaRat Suleman is regarded as one of the prophets of Allah who was bestowed with many divine gifts, including the ability to speak to both animals and jinn, he is also said to have enslaved the shaytan and the dev. He begged Allah for a kingdom such as none after him would have, and Allah granted his wish. Allah says in the Quran that He gave Suleman power over the wind. With it, he was able to fly. There is a difference of opinion among exegetes as to exactly what vehicle Solomon used to fly. Biblical accounts speak of airships and flying chariots, while some say he had a flying carpet. The Quran does not explicitly state how he would fly but states that God gave him control over the wind.
