It’s been a while since I last delivered a remix! This time I felt pulled to do something different with the tune “Pedestal” originally produced by Steven Esso and performed by NIIC the Singing Dog. Esso put the stems up for public download on Bluesky a few months ago, and I snagged them.
The lyrics really spoke to me and I had this idea to slow it down a bit, and transform it from a dance tune into something more sentimental and big. I kept getting all of these images of IMAX movies from when I was a kid, and it just called to me that, in my hands, the song wanted to become this big, epic cinematic ballad. I'm not sure why I always have to make things so difficult for myself haha.
