Verily! We have sent it (this Qur'an) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree), And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is? The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. 83 years and 4 months). Therein descend the angels and the Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by Allah's Permission with all Decrees, Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn.

Laylat al-Qadr (Arabic: لیلة القدر) (also known as Shab-e-Qadr , loaned from Persian), variously rendered in English as the Night of Decree, Night of Power,[2] Night of Value, Night of Destiny,[3] or Night of Measures, is in Islamic belief the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Islamic prophet Muhammad.[4] It is one of the nights of the last ten days of Ramadan. Muslims believe that on this night the blessings and mercy of Allah are abundant, sins are forgiven, supplications are accepted, and that the annual decree is revealed to the angels who also descend to earth.
Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power) is described in the Quran as, "better than a thousand months" (97:3). Any action done on this night such as reciting the Quran, remembering Allah, etc. is better than acting for one thousand months which do not contain the night of Qadr.
In an authentic narration from the Prophet ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him), we read:
“Whosoever worshiped on laylat’l-qadr, with faith and with a sincere intention, all of his previous sins are forgiven.” [i]
This night is special for the Ummah of the Prophet Muhammad ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him). Worshiping Allah in it is equivalent to worshiping Him for 1000 months.
Constantly make the chosen dua for this night:
اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني
‘’Allahumma innaka ‘afuwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni’’
O Allah you the Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me’’
