A spectacular “space jellyfish” appeared over Florida’s pre-dawn sky as SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral.
EarthCam cameras captured the glowing plume as the rocket climbed through the atmosphere. The striking phenomenon can occur when sunlight from below the horizon illuminates the rocket’s expanding exhaust at high altitude, creating a bright, jellyfish-like shape visible across the sky.
