Hey Y'all!! Working things out! Slowly but surely!
I’ve been really enjoying the journey of recording and learning about audio engineering. I used to be really hesitant about tryin to record even though I really, really wanted to. I thought “I don’t have the right space”. “I don’t have the right mics”. “I’m using *insert DAW here* and it’s not industry standard”, and the list goes on!
When I started out, I would bring my $250 mic pack to gigs and record @joylappsmusic trio gigs (Steelpan, Bass, 6 lines of drums) with my Motu 8 pre and work on mixing the show when I got home. I didn’t have a space to play drums at the time (2009), so I worked with what I had.
Fast forward to today: I can play drums at Home, I have gear that I sounds great and I digging into, and I love reading and watching anything on audio engineering!
