Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has announced that he is ready to end his indefinite hunger strike if the Central Government assures that no punitive or retaliatory action will be taken against students and protesters involved in the movement.
In a video message, Wangchuk said that if the government accepts this demand, he is prepared to break his fast immediately. Earlier, he also wrote a letter to Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, stating that once such an assurance is given, he will ask students and protesters to suspend their agitation.
Meanwhile, a massive crowd gathered at Jantar Mantar under the leadership of Abhijeet Dipke, with supporters demanding dialogue and protection for protesters.

दिल्ली के जंतर-मंतर पर चल रहे आंदोलन के बीच Climate Activist Sonam Wangchuk ने बड़ा ऐलान किया है। वांगचुक ने कहा है कि अगर केंद्र सरकार यह लिखित आश्वासन दे देती है कि आंदोलन में शामिल छात्रों और प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ कोई दंडात्मक या प्रतिशोधात्मक कार्रवाई नहीं होगी, तो वह आज ही अपना आमरण अनशन समाप्त करने के लिए तैयार हैं।
वांगचुक ने केंद्रीय मंत्री जेपी नड्डा और जितेंद्र सिंह को पत्र लिखकर भी यही मांग दोहराई। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार की ओर से भरोसा मिलने के बाद वह छात्रों और प्रदर्शनकारियों से भी आंदोलन रोकने की अपील करेंगे।
इसी बीच जंतर-मंतर पर अभिजीत दीपके के नेतृत्व में बड़ी संख्या में प्रदर्शनकारी जुटे। आंदोलन स्थल पर भारी भीड़ देखने को मिली और सरकार से बातचीत की मांग तेज हो गई।
