We loved creating this colorful Snake Cake, complete with a carved tree stump!
Creating a spiral cake tier allowed us to easily wind our snake around the "tree stump" with plenty of support. **If you're looking for a simpler design that doesn't involve carving the spiral, use the techniques in this video to create a "tree stump cake" that is just a single tier, and wrap the snake around the base!

Over the years, we've made a few cake designs using a carved spiral tier- it's a great technique to have in your cake decorating bag of tricks for all sorts of themes.
**Change up the colors and patterns of your snake to your liking! Mine is a coral snake which is venomous- (I just liked the bright colors!) --When we first posted this cake on My Cake School, we got some complaints about that! So of course, change the colors and patterns to your liking ;0)
