Shuv is a Biblical Hebrew word that means to turn, to return.
These are the days of the Elijah pattern of revival—at least one facet of it, where the Lord Himself is awakening His sheep. It’s time to shuv, to return to the Father and Covenant Faithfulness, made possible by Messiah Yeshua. He is the Way back to restored relationship within the Ancient Forever Covenant. Jew and Gentile. One in Messiah.
On Shabbat, before we study the bible, we pray Tehillim/Psalms 119:18,
גַּל־עֵינַי וְאַבִּיטָה נִפְלָאוֹת מִתּוֹרָתֶךָ
Gal einai veabita, nifla’ot mi’Torahtecha
“Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Your Law.”
If your goal is to study the Bible to get to know the Lord: who He really is, what He commands, and how we are to live our lives in a way acceptable to Him, He will open your eyes. You will see wonderful things. Case in point? Malachi 4:5-6.
Tonight’s topic is a frequently misconstrued Malachi passage. Malachi 4:5-6 foretells:
"Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of YHVH. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to [their] children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse."
What does that mean to return the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers? . . . "
