San Antonio high school student Isabella Stores received the surprise of a lifetime: a scholarship from the Veterans United Foundation.
Stores is the daughter of a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, who was exposed to toxic substances during his service, which led to leukemia and an aggressive brain cancer. He passed away in 2022.
Throughout his illness, Stores’ father never stopped encouraging his daughter’s dream of becoming a pilot.
This fall, Stores will attend Schreiner University to study Aviation Management, with the goal of flying commercially while serving as a pilot in the Reserves.
