So the job was to mulch down an enormous pile of what can only be described as garbage, which had absolutely all sorts of corruption in it ranging from car tyres to bricks and lumps of concrete to wire to metal and wooden posts, rocks, plastic sheeting, old garden furniture and well you get the idea, so it needed sorting through and spreading out a bit before i could attack it with the mulcher, i managed to pull out around 10 trailer loads of rubbish that would have caused mayhem with the spinning teeth of the mulcher
Once i had it all picked through to a reasonable standard i could cautiously make an attempt to start destroying the leftovers and reducing it to a fine mulch which will eventually rot down, of course i couldnt get everything out of the pile so with just a few medium sized logs and branches getting stuck here and there i proceeded, that is until i got to the harder more woody material nearer the middle of the pile, this meant fashioning a screen guard to keep the projectiles from smashing my windscreen so a quick trip down to the local hardware store and some fettling later i had something knocked up to at least try and keep my windscreen intact, of course its not riot proof but its better than nothing and boy did it save my glass a few times
personally i thought it was a bit too bigger job for a mulcher i would have preferred to have access to a proper tree shredder which i would have just simply fed with mouthfuls from the grab but slowly and carefully got there in the end
