Scriabin’s Mazurkas, Op. 25 represent a fascinating moment in his artistic development, poised between the late-Romantic idiom of Frédéric Chopin and the emerging individuality that would soon define his mature style.
Composed at the end of the 19th century, these nine miniatures revisit the Polish dance form through a deeply personal and introspective lens. While the rhythmic character of the mazurka is still perceptible, Scriabin transforms it into a vehicle for subtle harmonic experimentation, refined pianistic color, and poetic ambiguity.
Compared to his earlier Op. 3 Mazurkas, Op. 25 reveals a more compressed and sophisticated language: textures become lighter, gestures more elusive, and the expressive world more inward-looking. Moments of delicate lyricism alternate with sudden harmonic shifts and fleeting emotional contrasts, anticipating the more radical harmonic language of his later works.
Rather than evoking a national dance, these pieces suggest an intimate psychological landscape—fragments of memory, fleeting visions, and elusive states of mind. Each mazurka unfolds as a self-contained poetic microcosm, requiring a nuanced control of tone, timing, and atmosphere.

スクリャービンの《マズルカ 作品25》は、彼の作風の転換期を示す重要な作品群であり、後期ロマン派の様式と、後に確立される独自の音楽語法との間に位置しています。とりわけ、フレデリック・ショパンの伝統を踏まえつつも、それを内面的で個人的な表現へと昇華しています。
19世紀末に作曲されたこれら9曲は、ポーランド舞曲であるマズルカのリズム的特徴を残しながらも、より繊細で詩的な音楽へと変容しています。和声はより自由で洗練され、ピアノの音色や響きのニュアンスが重要な役割を担っています。
