Description
Huge thank you to @legodude24652 and the owner of SPVS, Jeff, for setting this up.
San Pedro Valley Sanitation is one of those smaller haulers in rural Arizona that technically competes in open market, but has 95-99% of the accounts based on the best prices and the best service. Here, SPVS competes against a local Waste Connections yard (Southwest Disposal).
SPVS runs two routes daily, both are Ex-Garland CCC's, one being the Python and the other a Rapid Rail. They're still new to automation, recently selling off Leach and McNeilus RLs. Their 3rd ASL is by far the most interesting, recently auctioned off by Huachuca City. It started its life in 1994 as a drop-frame MSL for the City of Sierra Vista, converted to stand-up drive. At some point, they dropped an older Rapid Rail Systems body on it, pre-Heil. It was auctioned off several years ago to Huachuca City, where it lived its life as their front line truck until 2019. You can thank Andrew for including his thumb in the shot of me (poorly) operating it.
Thanks again to Jeff for being extremely welcoming to Andrew and I coming down to check out his operation.
