Description
Burundi has opened its doors to tens of thousands of Congolese refugees. But resources are stretched so thin many are being forced to make a choice: safety or survival.
Our colleague Emery is Burundian. Every day, he works with refugees in Busuma camp, where families who fled violence are struggling to access basic necessities like shelter, food, clean water and healthcare.
Burundi has shown remarkable solidarity to their neighbours, but the country cannot shoulder this responsibility alone.
They urgently need the world's support now.
We need to step up as a global community to ensure refugees can live not only in safety, but also in dignity.
