Doble Filo (“Double-Edged”) is the 1987 solo album by Panamanian singer, songwriter, and actor Rubén Blades, released on Fania Records. The seven-track collection showcases Blades’ versatility across salsa styles, with four songs written by Blades himself. Highlights include his interpretation of “El Cantante” — the classic made famous by Héctor Lavoe in 1978 — along with the lively son “No Hay Chance” and the elegant chá chá chá “Privilegio.” Notably, the original LP packaging offered almost no production details, listing only the track titles and omitting producer and musician credits entirely.
