In Spanish pronunciation, the ability to roll your R's is a big deal. That's because it can sometimes completely change the meaning of a word. There are some people who simply can't roll their R's and that's O.K, you'll likely still be understood in the context of the conversation and there are actually quite a few Spanish speaking countries where they have a "soft R" meaning that it's much less pronounced and obvious. The most famous example of this are Spanish speakers in Costa Rica however it's also true for some countries in South America and also in the Caribbean.
