Controversy has long dogged Philly’s Rocky statues — controversy that on the surface is about what the statues represent and where they belong, but is really about class, commercialism, and community.
But now, argues columnist Mike Sielski, the Rocky Exhibit at the Philadelphia Art Museum is a sign that the city has finally fully embraced the statue’s popular power and meaning. The big question is: Do you agree?
